Frustrated Bookworm (Huh?)

After exactly 11 months, I have finally finished reading William Golding’s “The Lord of the Flies”. My initial reaction?

“What were you thinking William Golding?!?! What the hell??”

I’m not kidding. That was my reaction when I got to the final two chapters. I can’t believe I let this book sit for almost a year.

Well, that’s what always happen when I read a book… they sit for a very looong time! Don’t get me wrong, I like to read. Maybe it’s better to say that I like to read what other people are reading. Haha! I like to grab the next book that I heard good reviews about. But after buying them, they just add up to my number of books sitting, waiting to be read.

My problem is I easily lose interest of the book, especially when I got lost somewhere in the story. This usually happens when I am halfway through the book. I stop, for a very long time, then I get back to it and, hopefully, finish the book. There are some that I finished as fast as I can (mind you I am a very slow reader. Haha!) The ones that I enjoyed so much are Harper Lee’s “To Kill A Mockingbird”, William Young’s “The Shack” and Stieg Larsson’s The Girl Trilogy (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest). I am still working on it and hopefully it will eventually be a part of my system.

So, after “The Lord of the Flies”, these are the books that I am planning to read next. I still can’t decide which one to read first so your suggestions are very much welcome!

1. The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger

I’ve been hearing a lot about this book and hopefully this is going to be an easier read than The Lord of the Flies.

2. The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

This is one of the hardest books I’ve read. Yes I’ve started reading this but I somehow got lost in at the last part of Book 1. And to think that there are 12 books on it excluding the Epilogue. Haha! But I’ve been wanting to read this book for the longest time so I won’t give up until I’ve finally read and finished it. Good luck to me!

3. 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami

I’ve never ready any of Murakami’s books and I think I have to start now. I chose 1Q84 since this is one of his latest and hopefully it wouldn’t be that hard to read. Hopefully.
